Enjoy a traditional dinner of pancakes as we celebrate Shrove (Fat) Tuesday on March 5th. After dinner we'll begin our Lenten study on the Nicene Creed. Everyone is welcome.
Does it really matter what we believe about God? The early church said YES, what we believe about God is vitally important. And so the 4th century the church leaders wrote the Nicene Creed, the oldest and most widely recognized written expression of the church's faith. Join us in studying this great creed of the church during the season of Lent. We will begin the study with a pancake dinner on "Shrove Tuesday", March 5 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Then will have "Soup and Study" every Tuesday in Lent, concluding with the Tuesday after Easter, April 23, with the final study on the Resurrection. We will read and study the book "We Believe; an historical and spiritual guide to the Nicene Creed" by Frank Seilhamer. The cost of the book is $13.00, orders need to be in to the church office by Wednesday, Feb. 20. So don't delay, sign up and order your book today!
Our Soup 'n' Study for Lent begins on Shrove Tuesday, March 5, 2019 and runs 8 weeks. Pancakes instead of soup that night. Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:30. Order your book now by calling the church office at 503-771-7553. Books are $13, and we'll need to get that order in by Feb. 20th. Everyone is welcome.
